During this course, explored in depth the characteristics of various instructional technologies and their place and use in English language teaching. Developed teaching materials prepared with instructional technologies and the evaluation of their use with students was the focus of study, encompassing a range of media from paper-based and classroom instruction to web-based and blended learning. By the end of the course, was able to:

At the end of course, was able to show in-depth knowledge of instructional technologies from analysis of example materials and justification of appropriateness and alternatives, and therefore, was placed in the ‘exceeding’ category of the course final evaluation criteria and also won the most creative teacher award on the course.

Job Description for the Coordinator of International Projects and Institutional Development

Accountable to: The Director of the English Preparatory School
Accountable for: All Assistant Directors and Coordinators
The Coordinator for International Projects and Institutional Development (IPID) works toward an internationalization plan to promote the English Preparatory School as a global and international institution around the world. S/he coordinates international programs, represents EPS abroad, supports international linkage activities with institutions abroad and assists with the implementation of other international initiatives such as EAQUALS.

The Coordinator for International Projects and Institutional Development is an administrative and academic professional position that requires teaching of a minimum of 4 hours at EPS.


Duties include

• adhering strictly to the International Projects and Institutional Development coordinator’s
• job description and being a role model for all in the school.
• coordinating international programs.
• supporting international linkage activities with instructions aboard
• acting as an overall coordinator and advisor for all institutional development at EPS and
• ensuring related projects are smoothly implemented by all parties involved.
• advising director, other coordinators/Asst. Directors to ensure the efficient delivery of the
• international and institutional developmental projects.
• ensuring all coordinators/Asst. Directors work closely and in cooperation and thus,
• assisting with unity at administrative level.

* Organizing and running a two-week induction period for new and incumbent teachers

* Providing leadership and support for teachers and level coordinators

* Developing the school’s resources and monitoring the adequacy and availability of teaching materials and aids

* Creating more effective placement, mid-semester, and end-of-year tests and clear guidelines for marking the oral and written parts

* Conducting the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Cambridge First Certificate, Cambridge Advanced, and Cambridge Proficiency Exams

* Revising and improving the school curriculum

* Designing a new syllabus for advanced English for Work course and for new conversation classes of low, high intermediate, and advanced levels

* Liasing between the office and the teaching staff

* Cooperating with teachers and getting their input into all decisions made which relate to them

* Implementing and conducting teacher appraisals

* Organizing and running the BEST outing

* Representing BEST at local, national, and international teaching and management related conferences
